Typing Practice: Using a Pangram to Master Keyboard Letters

As a greater number of people access the Internet, use of the keyboard has become common. Many individuals want to transition from looking at their fingers while they type and would like to increase their typing speed.

A common method to hone typing skills is to make use of a pangram (Greek: pan (every, all) gramma (letter)). A pangram is a sentence that uses all twenty-six letters of the alphabet. While it is used by typists to test their keyboards, it can also be used by those looking to type without looking, as a daily practice to sharpen typing skills.

    Typing Without Looking

By typing a pangram, using the correct finger placement, a person trains their fingers to use the right keys. In no time at all, one can transition from pecking at the letters to actually typing without looking.

Larger Version of The Bedbug Who Wouldn't Bite Forthcoming

    Hello Everyone,

Wow! As spring unfolds, my motivation has gone up a notch. Why is it we feel like doing so much more when the sun is shining? All those projects that have been growing cobwebs throughout the winter months get dusted off--literally!

It's been a good month. Lots of exciting stuff has been happening with the book. Yesterday, I received confirmation that a larger Bedbug book is in the making. The larger version is stand-alone and will not include the fuzzy toy bug or come in the see-through bag; however, the larger book will include ordering information for the smaller book pkg.

Why a Larger Version of The Bedbug Who Wouldn't Bite?

The book pkg. has proven popular with kids as a carry-along; however, after discussion, the publisher and I feel that making a larger book available is a good move. People have expressed interest in both. Parents may prefer the larger version for read-alongs. Additionally, we are preparing to place the larger book with a major publisher. So, the time is right. I'll be announcing more about that as events unfold.

I mentioned today, over at The Bedbug Blog, that the Bedbug book is now over in Japan. It's exciting to see the book going around the world.

Print 'n' Post Has Died a Slow Death

Well, it seems as though Print'n'Post has died a slow death. What was once a good site for writers to earn a little extra cash has gone off into oblivion.

I logged in today but the site appears to have no content in any of the categories. I don't know if this is  temporary or a permanent state of affairs. My articles had been missing in action previously so I assumed then that the site was going to be phased out.

I stopped submitting to P'n'P when their article lengths increased. I like sites that allow for varied word counts, not caring to be nailed down to a set word count per article.

I had planned on seeing if I could copy/paste my blog posts and use them elsewhere, but alas, I put it off and, as of this morning, find both my articles and my blogs missing.

I'm not overly concerned, but it's a good reminder to make copies of all articles so that, if necessary or desired, they can be used in future.

I'm not saddened at the demise of P'n'P as I've been concentrating on a handful of sites and submitting good quality content, making these the main earners. Going off in too many directions can be likened to a hamster running on a wheel but not making any progress. Far better to stick with what is working and expand on those efforts.

    Writing, Crafting . . . Creativity

I think we'll all agree that the warmer weather is so welcome right about now. . .

I haven't had a chance to post much at Write and Earn a Living lately. Do you ever find that your writing projects snowball? In spite of cutting down on my number of writing gigs, I still find that writing simply carries me away and consumes huge chunks of time. It tends to get out of control.

To counter that, I've been trying to do some crafting. Today, I'll share some of my projects with readers. Below, you'll see a crocheted rug I'm working on.

A friend of mine told me that she thought I was a work-a-holic and that I needed to incorporate more balance in my life. I  thought about what she said--and I agreed with her. But, I wondered, how to find time for other things?

I decided that each time I took a break throughout the day, I would do those things I never usually find time for. I'm encouraged by the results.

I'm working on another basket, as well, and when I get more of it done, will post pics. of same.

More of my crocheted designs can be seen over at HubPages. I recently submitted some crochet articles at Suite 101, for those who would like to learn how to crochet ,and in one article, I've listed common crochet stitches for printing off for future reference.
