??????? . . . ???
You know, one of my pet peeves is encountered via the following scenario: I visit a site with a job posting for a writer and it details what is wanted . . . but doesn't enlighten the writer about what he or she is interested in. I'm referring to the pay rate, of course. I mean come on, how many of us visit jobs boards because we have nothing better to do?
Frankly, this drives me nuts. Why should I waste my time applying for a job that does not include payment details? This lack of transparency does not instill confidence that the listing is targeting serious writers.
I saw a job listing this morning requesting 30 articles from the writer--and more article writing work was promised, and then . . . nothing--de nada. If you are anything like me you click the X up in the corner and move on to something else.
My advice? Stay away from this nonsense. You can bet that in most cases, you'll be insulted by being offered a ridiculously low rate for hours of labor.
In the Today's Job Pick section at the top, on the left, I will only list writing jobs that include payment details or that look promising, hence saving you time, if you are looking for writing work.
