Contest: Off to a Good Start
My contest has gotten off to a good start! Already writers have responded, leaving comments and their article URLS below my article: Contest: Which of Your Triond Articles Has the Highest Page Views?
If you write for Triond, take a look under your Total Views in the Content section of the Triond Dashboard to find your article with the most page views.
Commenting and including your page views and article URL is a good way to boost readership of your article. If readers see that an article has appealed to a wide audience, this may be enough to make them take a closer look.
This contest will be good publicity for hard-working authors at Triond. As well, Triond includes an author profile page, which may also be accessed once someone visits your article. And, of course, most authors have even more of their articles appearing on their profile pages!
This contest will run for a couple of weeks to allow everyone time to enter their article link.

New Contest for Triond Authors
In the coming weeks, excitement will be running high! I'm holding a contest to see which Triond author will earn the designation of King or Queen of Content.
What determines king or queen status?
It's simple. Authors should swing by my article Which of your Triond Articles has the Most Page Views and include a comment in the Comment box below the article, giving the name of their article with the highest views and the number of total page views.
Why a Contest?
This contest is designed to showcase Triond articles that have appealed to a wide readership. It is my intention that the contest itself will lead to even more page views for these hardworking authors.
As well, as a writing community, we can look at others' page views and use those as a measuring gauge to see if we need to work on increasing our own page views or, in the best-case scenario, gain some needed encouragement.
Winner Benefits
* At the contest close, I will announce the winner and interview the author as to what methods he or she used to draw a high readership. The interview will be published in a Triond article.
* I will link to the winning article at this blog.
* I will also create a blog post and link to other articles that gained a high readership, thus helping to spread the word about these top performing articles.
Why not swing over to Triond right now and check out your article views. Don't feel discouraged if your views aren't as high as authors who have aready included their stats. Remember, this is a good opportunity to gain readership of your highest viewed article. By simply placing your article URL in the Comments box, someone may decide to check out your article.

Triond Article Earnings: Fact vs Fiction
Troubling rumors about Triond article earnings
Lately, there has been much speculation about Triond article earnings and whether these have been cut in half.
As well, discussion has arisen about just how revenue is generated. It has been bandied about that writers don't actually earn on ad clicks, rather, only on purchases arising from those clicks.
Even more alarming, I've seen and read statements that Triond is a scam and that writers would do well to steer clear.
What's the Truth About Triond Article Earnings?
1) First up to bat is the claim that Triond revenues have been cut in half. I've addressed this in my article Triond Earnings Cut in Half: True or False?
2) Second, is the rumor that Triond article earnings are only generated when someone makes a purchase, as a result of advertising. I've covered this concern in The Real Skinny on Triond Revenue: Generated by Actual Clicks on Ads, or on Purchases Generated From Those Ads?
3) Thirdly, there's the claim that Triond is a scam. I can speak from experience because I've been writing for Triond for a couple of years. When you are with a content site for some time, you gain an insider feel for how things work. You also have experience with article earnings and payments for same.
My Experiences With Triond Article Earnings
I've been paid month after month since I started with Triond. Now, it has taken time to grow monthly earnings and it also takes work--not just in writing articles but in promoting them so they receive traffic; however, all that said, if you work hard, Triond is still a good little opportunity.
Will You Replace Your Day Job?
Probably not; but, if are looking at ways to earn revenue from your writing, Triond deserves a look. Many online writers write for a number of sites so that they have multiple income streams coming in.
All this does take very hard work but writers know why they are willing to invest the hours.

Thoughts on Triond Article Earnings
- I like getting paid over and over again for articles I create once. This is passive or residual income, which generally speaking, hums along on auto-pilot.
- I can count on prompt payment. I've never had any issues with payment each month.
- I like the flexibility of writing when I want and how much I want, without the pressure to produce a set number of words within a given time frame or having to maintain a certain rating. I dislike sites where you have to jump through figurative hoops in order to get paid.
- I appreciate the timely responses I get from the editorial staff each time I send an e-mail asking for clarification on some issue.
- I appreciate the profile feature which showcases author articles and photos.
- I love the reader feedback. when people take the time to comment on your articles, this reinforces that other appreciate the information you provide.
- I enjoy networking with other writers. Triond is a community of people who, for the most part, are fired by their love of writing and their desire to earn for their efforts.
- I enjoy the sense of community. A number of top Triond writers are willing to help others or share writing tips.

A Look at Robert Frost's Poetry
Robert Frost was the author of many popular poems. He so aptly puts into words those thoughts and feelings most of us have had at some point, experiences that have shaped our lives.
The Road Not Taken
In The Road Not Taken, Frost describes decisions we make and how those decisions can change our life course. Robert Frost's The Road Not Taken describes hitting a pivotal moment, a crossroad that has the power to forever change matters.
Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
What happens when you want to get away from life's pressures and responsibilities? Robert Frost's Stopping by Woods has an almost magical quality about it, while helping us to examine this dilemma.
Nothing Gold Can Stay
Frost's Nothing Gold Can Stay addresses a universal theme: loss of innocence and loss of the golden and charmed years of youth.
Robert Frost's poetry speaks to us on so many levels. He wrote timeless subject material that appeals to young and old alike, insights about life and the human experience that will continue to capture attention in future years.

A Look at Poetry Contests
Are you considering entering your work into a poetry contest?
Newer writers can use poetry contests as a way to break into print, getting their feet wet to the whole writing/publishing process.
If you've written a number of poems, submitting your work to a poetry contest just may result in publication and earnings.
Many contests offer prizes and these can be quite lucrative. The first poem I ever sent out, The Wooded Room, won Third Prize and netted me a nice little payment for a page of work.
This was the encouragement I needed to start on the road to freelancing.
In the early stages, I made a goal to have each of my poems published. Once I'd accomplished that, I looked into getting them published in publications that accepted PPPs. This goal was also reached.
I would encourage all newer writers to submit their work and see where it leads. If you've always dreamed of becoming a published writer, there really is no time like the present.

Entrecard brings visitors to your blog. Join, earn Entrecard credits, display an ad of your blog on other blogs
Entrecard is making an appearance across blogs. What is it and should you be using it?
Entrecard is a blogging network that allows you to drop a card to let other bloggers know you've visited them. Entrecard, in fact, is the electronic equivalent of an business card--it could be considered an e-card (e-business card).
By dropping an entrecard, you encourage bloggers to visit your site. As well, other bloggers can drop their entrecards on your blog, letting you know they've paid a visit.
Entrecard Dashboard
The Entrecard Dashboard lets you see the latest people who have dropped cards, and allows you to approve advertisers who are interested in advertising on your blog.
Entrecard Campaign
This section lists the sites containing the Entrecard widget--good places to visit and drop your entrecard. When you visit the Campaign page, you can activate advertising campaigns, whereby you click the "Advertise" button beneath a card.
Getting Started with Entrecard
You'll want to create an image for your entrecard, either your own 125x125 pixel JPG or PNG--or a free image you can access by signing into Entrecard and going to "Entrecard Help," "Quick Guide," to the fourth item down: create a custom card.
Next, you'll want to place the Entrecard widget on your blog. You simply go to "Get Code". You copy the code and paste it into your blog. Once the widget is placed, others can drop their card and you'll be paid in credits when others advertise on your widget.

How to Look for Freelance Writing Jobs
I've kicked off 2009 with the topic of freelance writing jobs.
Many people are taking stock at this time of year and may be considering taking on additional writing jobs or freelance opps.
Increasingly, writers are searching online for freelance writing jobs.
In today's post, I'm including a video about freelance writing jobs and how to go about finding them.

Freelance Writing Jobs
With the start of a new year, many of us are looking at our writing efforts and wondering how to increase our income.
You may be in a position where you have time in your schedule to take on extra writing work.
Where do you look for writing jobs? One place I recommend is Freelance Writing Jobs.
This is a good starting point, offering decent paying writing jobs. Obtaining writing work can be difficult because many of the so-called writing jobs out there offer insulting pay rates or you have to bid on them and then wait to hear if you got the gig.
Freelance Writing Jobs, however is the real deal, pointing to telecommute and blogging jobs.
If you check on the sidebar on the right, you'll see even more writing jobs on offer, including freelance blogging, article writing, work at home, etc.
This is a good resource and one site you'll want to place a shortcut to on your desktop so that you can return to it often.
Let me know how you make out.
