You are correct. Triond only accepts original articles and will do a search and turn down PP work. You could publish your articles at Triond first and then include them at your blog--BUT, I would caution you against doing this because of duplicate content.
A better approach might be to publish them at Triond, then write article blurbs at your blog linking back to your Triond article. This would give your blog content and drive traffic to your Triond articles, while not breaching Google's duplicate content rule.
