The Facebook Badge Widget
In my last post, I discussed using widgets as a way to direct readers to your articles.
The other day, I came across a Facebook badge widget, which looks great. I installed it at my writing blog over at Today.com.
If you would like to include the Facebook badge/widget on your blog or webpages, sign in to Facebook and go to your profile. Scroll down and look over on the left to where it says "Create a Profile Badge."
Click on that and when a new page comes up choose "Create a New Badge."
You now can choose from different options, such as including your profile picture and your URLs:
You can construct a Facebook badge/widget that points readers to your articles:
For fun, you could include a Facebook badge that shows your pictures.
You can choose either a horizontal or a verticle Facebook badge as seen here.
Once you have selected the options and previewed them, simply save and then grab the code to install your Facebook badge wherever desired.
As can be seen, the Facebook badge widget is a very neat tool.

Why You Should Use Article Widgets
If you are writing for content sites and trying to increase your reader views, you should be using article widgets.
Article widgets are attractive, colorful, and downright attention grabbing. They are also an incredibly handy tool to show off your recent articles.
Some article widgets include your photo, other article widgets allow you to choose your article categories. Usually article widgets will display a number of your articles.
Article widgets can be placed wherever you can past code. This, of course, includes blogs. An article widget in your blog's sidebar can direct readers to more of your articles.
Now, if you are using articles to sell products, all the better. A reader sees an article that interests him, clicks on it, and is taken to a page that leads to his purchasing a product the article discusses.
If you write for revenue share opps. an article widget can increase your earnings because readers see an article title that catches their eye, they click on it to read the rest of the article and then may click on ads. that interest them.
If you visit other blogs, you know how many times you've clicked on an article link because something grabbed your attention. Now, combine that with color and a picture and you can see why widgets are such great little gadgets.
Many sites offer an article widget for you to use to promote your recent articles. Take a look at the widgets in the sidebar of this blog to see how eye-grabbing article widgets can be.
To select a widget, visit content sites that offer these, or make your own innovative blidget (put your blog offerings on a widget) by visiting Widget Box
Article widgets are versatile. Whether you choose a predesigned widget or make your own, you should be capitalizing on article widgets that showcase your articles.

Online Writing Opportunities
Hello Everyone,
From the response I'm getting, over at my blog http://writeandearnaliving.today.com, it's obvious that many people are interested in online writing opportunities.
Recent years have seen great changes to the way writers engage in freelance writing and the Internet makes the whole process so much easier.
For myself, I've found I've transitioned to online writing over hard copy. Why? To be honest, the process is set on "speed dial" which suits me to a tee! I love the fact that I can press "Send" to submit something, over having to print it off, address an envelope, and then make a trip to the post office to ensure that there is the right amount of postage. I don't know about you but as modern life gets busier and busier, anything that cuts down on time is a plus.
Many of us don't want to waste time waiting months to hear if our manuscript has been accepted and then waiting to receive payment. Our monthly bills don't ever wait, do they?
I'll give an example of how frustrating this can be. I received notice that one of my ppp's had been accepted for publication and I was offered an attractive rate. I was informed that my piece was slated for publication in coming months and I consoled myself that the payment I'd receive would offset the long wait on publication. A year passed, then more months. I finally pulled it. To hell with it, I thought. My time is just too valuable.
If you are reading this and chuckling, you no doubt have experienced a similar scenario.
Instant publication and rapid payment are an unbeatabe combo. With that in mind, I created writeandearnaliving.today.com to help newer writers to get into the game as painlessly as possible and to help experienced writers add to their income generating writing opps.
If you haven't done so already check out this blog for insights into paying online writing opportunities.
* If you are an experienced blogger, you can "Get paid to BLOG at Today.com" for each daily blog post you create.

Reader Feedback
One of the nicest aspects of being a freelance writer and maintaining a writing blog is the reader feedback I receive.
Daily, I hear from readers/writers asking questions or expressing appreciation for the insights I share at this blog or in my writing-related articles.
Writers spend many hours toiling away in solitude. It all comes together when someone takes the time to comment. Reader feedback is a reminder that I may write in solitude, but my efforts spread out and touch others.
My philosophy is that when you help others you help yourself. Especially is this applicable with the Internet, which allows for an interchange between a vast network of writers in cyberspace.
Reader Feedback
* I always welcome suggestions as to what readers would like to see at this blog.
* Please write in with your writing-related questions
Reader feedback is really the glue that holds it all together, keeping me motivated and on track.

Update on Today.com Blogging
Hello Everyone,
If you've been following this blog, you'll remember that I mentioned I was blogging with Today.com.
Here's an update of my Today.com blogging experiences.
Today.com Blogging
My reader views are climbing rapidly and, under VIP Statistics, Today.com provides on-going information on the status of my blog--a handy panel providing insights regarding posts and earnings.
Under Traffic Stats, I can check out search terms used to find my blog, referrers (where the traffic is coming from), and number of visits to my pages. This helps me to plan future posts.
One thing I will mention: I'm not a clock watcher and because of this, although I've posted each day, I see that I will have to ensure that 24 hours have elapsed between postings. A couple of my posts failed to qualify for payment because of duplicate dates.
If you are considering Today.com blogging or have joined already, keep this in mind, so that payments aren't impacted.
Remember. Today.com is free to join and you earn on each daily post for the first month, then, your payment increases or decreases, depending on how much traffic your blog attracts. Generally speaking, if you give your blog the attention it deserves, your earnings should grow over time.

How Your Triond Fans Can Increase Your Blog Readership
This morning I checked the number of fans I have over at Triond. When I added my pages, I discovered I have 156.
Now, why is this significant?
You can direct your Triond fans to your blog. How do you do this?
How Your Triond Fans Can Increase Your Blog Readership
* Your Triond profile is the perfect place to include your blog URL.
* You can also reference your blog in e-mails with your Triond fans.
* You can include your blog URL in the comments box on your Triond articles. Fans and general readers are directed to your blog.
Are you starting to see the potential?
Most of us have heard of the power of article directories to drive blog traffic--but these don't pay.
However, if you have a blog detailing a particular subject, why not write a related article at Triond? You then direct readers to your blog while earning on the article you submitted to Triond. In my books, that's a great trade-off.
Note: Triond usually doesn't allow article links pointing to a personal blog in your article body but you can include links pointing to a website, depending on the information offered.
Using the methods I've touched on you can increase blog readership via your Triond fans.

Blogger's New Blogger Following Feature
Blogger has added a handy new feature, which allows you to network with other Blogger bloggers, reading their blogs and gaining exposure for your Blogger blog.
You'll notice that I've installed it over on the right, where it says: "Followers." Bloggers can follow this blog by simply clicking on it.
Using the "Blogger Following" button has distinct advantages but before we get to that, you may be wondering how to install it on your Blogger blog.
It's easy. Simply go to your Blogger Dashboard, then to Layout, then to Add a Gadget. The new feature is the second one down, entitled "Followers." Click on that and follow instructions. Once you've installed it, other Bloggers will have another way of following your blog. But it doesn't end there . . .
If you click on someone else's Following button and opt to follow that blog, you'll notice something a little different at your Dashboard. When you sign-in to Blogger, scroll down. You'll see "Reading List." This allows you to see the latest posts by the Blogger bloggers you are following.
What a great feature! It's so easy to read these blogs and to comment, which may result in more readers for your blog.
Hats off to Blogger for the new Blogger Follow button. This convenient new feature makes blogging even more enjoyable!

Writing Children's Books
Many writers want to get started writing children's books. At first blush, it looks relatively easy. You may have looked over a number of children's books and thought: I could easily do this. The reality, however, is that breaking into print as a children's book author can be a hard climb.
Writing a children's book is not just about crafting a good story. If you want a publishing house to consider your manuscript, one of the key areas you need to consider is market appeal.
Now, this might seem like a rein on creativity but the business end of writing shares an important spot with actual writing talent.
Do You Know What Children's Book Publishers are Looking for?
You have two choices: you can take a wild stab at it and hope you get lucky or you can approach it with knowledge.
Hard Questions About Children's Books
* Does Your story have wide appeal?
* Would it sell?
* Would it make the publishing house money?
* Is it worth their time and effort getting "this little piggy to market"?
As you can see, there are numerous factors to consider when writing for children and before sending your work out to a children's book publisher. Hands down, it pays to do your homework ahead of time before writing a children's book--or, at the very least, if you've crafted a story, looking at how to get it published.

Triond Article Earnings
Today, I received a letter from a writer named Rodallega. She communicated her insights about Triond article earnings.
In her words . . .
Rodallega says: "Triond is a good opportunity to make money.
Once I got more than 70$ for one of my articles.It was clicked more than 80000..
Five Beautiful Places You Should See in Amsterdam
Three Beautiful Plateau You Should See in Turkey
Five Beautiful Canyons You Must See Before You Die"
Rodallega's Articles
Her experiences aren't surprising. If you work at it and do the necessary article promotion, you can experience similar Triond article earnings.
My Triond article earnings are climbing steadily. I'll list some "Total Earnings" figures below.
$ 21.61
$ 20.00
$ 14.42
$ 15.20
$ 9.66
$ 7.67
Now, mind you, these article earnings weren't accrued all at once but this shows what you can make, per article, over the long-term. If you continue to submit articles on a regular basis, your monthly earnings will eventually climb.(In my books, this beats article mills that pay $2.00-5.00 per article.)
Does it take hard work? Yes. But if you have a passion for writing, submitting your work to Triond will pay off in attractive and on-going Triond article earnings.

My Experiences Blogging With Today.com
I mentioned in a previous post that I was trying paid blogging with Today.com. I liked the idea of earning $1.00 for each daily post + a percentage of ad revenue. I thought that was a pretty good deal for a blog new out of the starting gate.
So far, Today.com appears to be delivering as promised. I'm seeing earnings of $1.00 for each post + revenue. I created a couple of posts at the end of September and, sure enough, these are showing as accruing earnings. I made $4.00 + ad revenue of .04, so my earnings totaled $4.04 for 4 days, creating very short blog posts which took me mere minutes.
Blogging with Today.com Activity
* My reader views are climbing daily
* Earnings are increasing
* I have two referrals
If things continue, as stated, I figure I will make over $30.00 for October, if I post each day.
I also like that you aren't nailed in to daily posts. There doesn't appear to be any "have-to's." You are simply paid for any posts you create in a month at the set rate of $1.00 per 100-word post.
If you also see the potential of blogging with Today.com, simply sign up and get started on the road to earnings. Go to the first article below to get started blogging with Today.com.
