6 Steps To Nailing Freelance Writing Jobs

Okay, so you've reached the stage in your writing career where you are searching for freelance writing jobs. What can you do to make sure your bid/application stands out?

Remember, you face stiff competition: hundreds if not thousands of other writers are doing the same thing. They are searching the Internet and bidding/applying for writing projects.

Here are some tips to make your bid or proposal stand out.

*Hone in on what the prospective employer wants and explain how you can meet those requirements.

*Indicate that you value clear direction and are willing to make needed changes to deliver exactly what is needed.

*Make sure you proofread your post, however short it is. Remember, you are selling your writing expertise. Nothing screams amateur louder that a poorly constructed sentence or two.

*Show employers how good your writing is. Send samples of your best work and if the situation calls for it, send your resume.

*This is not the time to get fancy. A prospective employer has to sift through much information. Make his/her job easier by stating concisely what you are offering in good old regular fonts and normal colors.

* Collect testimonials and include these in your proposal.
