Writing Markets

Never underestimate the potential of the Internet for accessing writer's markets. Finding a suitable market for your work is only a mouse-click away! Online resources are a goldmine for the aspiring writer.

The following are some links that should set you well on your way to locating applicable markets for you.

It is always exciting to discover new markets for your work--because, let's face it, new markets translate into cash for either freshly finished manuscripts or for pieces you've already written.

You no doubt have a number of markets that you submit to on a regular basis, but it is a good idea to expand your base of paying markets. Always be on the lookout for additional markets to target and you'll reap the rewards that will inevitably come to you.

  1. Some good places. Thanks for listing them. You're right it is good to have lots of different places as options for your writing.

  2. Thanks for your comments, Sherry.

Although the optimal scenario is instant payment for completed work-- and this is possible depending on who you write for--you may also wait anywhere from 3 months to 1 year to receive payment for an article or story, so it's a good idea to have a steady stream of submissions going out and hopefully a stream of payments/checks coming in.
